Overview
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the monthly accounting operations of
our organization. They ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reported,
and analyzed. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with accounting
standards and regulations and providing financial insights to support business decision-making.
This is a hybrid role with occasional office meetings to interact with team. Location in the
Orlando, Houston or Indianapolis areas a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Supervise and manage a team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, as well as monitor actual performance against these plans.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Supervise the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and support the preparation and submission of tax returns as needed.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
Requirements
- Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
- Experience: 4 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Sage Intacct experience a significant plus.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (e.g. GAAP, IFRS).
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing staff.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.

- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic fast-paced environment
