What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trainers (Cerner) position at Affinity?
On behalf of our healthcare client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for Education and Learning Trainers to supply a team of experienced trainers to work with trainers to deliver all streams of the end-user training for Go Lives 1 through 6. We are specifically looking for a diverse mix of clinical skills and backgrounds across the consultants, with an emphasis on expertise in clinical and healthcare training.
Responsibilities:
• The initial term of the agreement to complete Phase 1 will be for a period of eighteen (18) months encompassing Go Lives 1-6, reserving the right to extend the agreement for an additional three (3) to six (6) months. Upon completion and acceptance of Phase 1, and subject to government approval, proceed with Phase 2 which is expected to include the following deliverables:
o Cross-training for existing trainers in diverse streams to ensure that the training team can deliver effective training across all streams of practice.
• This team will deliver At-The-Elbow (ATE) training, Peer Mentor training, and end-user training in all clinical and non-clinical disciplines.
• Significant travel across the province will be required, particularly in Go Live 4-6. Trainers must have a valid driver’s license.
• Trainers are expected to work a variety of shift hours for 7.5/hrs. Per shift seven days a week. Trainers are required to work 100% of the time on-site.
Deliverables:
• Develop familiarity with the workflows of clinical areas that have changed, with emphasis on medium and high-impact workflows
• Completion of the onsite TTT – localization to NS platform only
• Contribution to educational support materials
o Recommended job aids
o Recommended videos, other media
• Completion of both formative and summative evaluations of assigned training sessions
• Participation in training debrief sessions and updating educational materials as necessary
• Contribution to Lessons Learned
Qualifications:
• Cerner Certification/deep knowledge of Cerner/Oracle Health solutions and completion of successful training programs for Canadian healthcare clients.
• Training/Expertise in delivering learner-centric training enabling participants to develop both competence and confidence in their skill after of training.
• Communication/Strong ability to communicate complex issues to clinical and business staff; Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Evidence-based/Demonstrated ability to link training to relevant workflows and evidence.
• Digital health knowledge/Knowledge of healthcare technology best practices, software applications, and informatics; HIMSS or CPHIMS-CA certification an asset.
• Adult learning methodologies/Demonstrated experience in the application of adult learning theory and methodologies.
• Problem solving/Ability to solve a range of complex problems; propose innovative solutions; and apply clinical best practices.
• Documentation/Experience in creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis.
• Collaboration/Proven collaboration with diverse parties to address complex issues.
• Transformation/Experience in healthcare transformation through the provision of scheduled and Just in Time training to clinical and non-clinical end users.
• Organization/Organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Time management/Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Mentoring/demonstrated ability to mentor less experienced trainers.
• Travel/Ability to travel across the province to deliver local training sessions.
Required skills:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or health-related discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant health informatics experience.
• Cerner certification in at least one (1) clinical stream.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant clinical or health-related field.
• Proficient knowledge of the Canadian healthcare industry required; familiarity with acute care clinical, ambulatory, administrative, and community-based programs preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) full Canadian CIS implementation experience. Experience on multiple Canadian projects is an asset.
• Minimum of three (3) years of training experience delivering targeted training in healthcare environments
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning theory and application
• Experience designing and delivering training on healthcare information systems and terminology an asset.
• Ability to deliver training in more than one stream of clinical/non-clinical work is considered an asset
