Job Description

The Data Science Intern will contribute to research initiatives aimed at enhancing company leadership, the real estate investment process, capital raising, and client services. The primary focus of this role is developing and maintaining proprietary research databases and models to support data-driven decision-making.

Essential Duties

Conduct statistical analysis and apply machine learning techniques to extract insights from data.Collaborate with the data science team to expand and enhance GenAI capabilities.Work on innovative projects integrating predictive AI models with GenAI, including feature engineering enhancements and anomaly detection.Partner with the U.S. quantitative research team to ensure quantitative analysis informs investment recommendations.Utilize economic and real estate market data to support investment decision-making.Assist research team members in managing real estate databases and subscriptions, ensuring timely updates and accuracy. Engage IT support as needed.Actively participate in research team meetings, contributing insights and discussion points.Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner, tailored to different audiences.Work under broad supervision while maintaining a high degree of collaboration and accountability.Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Social Science, Business Analytics, Computer Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or Operations Research. A graduate degree and/or professional designation is preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL, with a willingness to learn or experience in dbt, Airflow, or other data orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with AWS tools such as Glue, Redshift, and ECR.
• Strong programming skills in Python and R.
• Experience merging and analyzing large, diverse datasets.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into non-technical language.
• Knowledge of data mining techniques and tools using Python, R, or other programming languages.
