Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring any changes are communicated to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Implement care plans tailored to each client's needs, promoting independence while providing necessary support.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, helping clients engage in social activities and maintain a positive outlook.
- Assist individuals with mobility challenges, ensuring their safety during transfers and ambulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality.
- Support clients with dementia care by using appropriate techniques to manage challenging behaviors and enhance communication.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and family members to ensure comprehensive care is delivered effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health or senior care is preferred.
- Knowledge of direct support services for individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and basic health assessments.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on empathy and patience.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various settings.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
