What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Rep (EMS) position at Affordable Transport?
- At all times display professional and courteous conduct and appearance
- Coach and educate colleagues of new and changing information as necessary.
- Respond to questions and resolve issues, complaints, and technical problems with facilities and health care systems via phone call or in-person by hosting meetings.
- Maintain engagement with facilities and health care systems at their service locations
- Acts as a liaison between hospital systems, EMS agencies, and other care providers.
- Assist with obtaining contracts for ambulance services from health care providers.
- Assist with obtaining Emergency agreement contracts with health care systems.
- Perform direct daily interaction with providers and their staff.
- Perform data analysis to identify and evaluate key metrics
- Develop and implement a business plan to drive service-line growth and improve operations in terms of quality and processes.
- Facilitate performance improvement and quality review by working with local agencies, hospitals, and facilities.
- Promote special care capabilities of MedFleet and its subsidiaries to local providers and medical care centers identified for outreach
- Provide reports and statistics to health system leadership concerning EMS issues.
- Identify and develop relationships with healthcare organizations, providers, and look for other revenue generating opportunities both organically and new business.
- Expected to be knowledgeable of market level intelligence of competitors and consumers.
- Cultivate new relationships and build trust with care providers and referral sources.
- Provide customer service and interact with customers.
- Educate care providers on ambulance service levels.
- Meets with customers at their business locations.
- Meets with Operations and Administration on a regular basis.
- Submits weekly Business Development Report on activities, opportunities for growth, challenges faced, etc
- Periodic visits to Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living and Senior Living Center, community centers, and other provider locations as an adjunct to clinical liaison and to resupply promotional literature.
- Assist in updating social media and online resources.
- Establish best practices and sales techniques within the organization to grow referrals and admissions to hospice and palliative care at a faster rate than currently in place.
- Assist in the planning and facilitation of in-person and virtual education sessions, meetings, and communication sessions with providers.
- Manage and facilitate relationships on behalf of MedFleet.
- Assist in emergency management activities.
- Assist in public education events.
- Conducts public appearances, lectures, or exhibits in order to increase awareness and to promote goodwill for MedFleet.
- Coordinates and responds to requests for public information.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.
- Maintain knowledge of job and medical field.
- Keep current on training for new laws, CMS Regulations and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills
- Current Florida State Driver's License in good standing
- Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving policy,
- 3 years of combined experience in the medical field business development and sales
- Excellent communication and customer service skills,
- Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care,
- Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence,
- Other qualifications/certifications specific to the local operation and/or contract requirement
- Satisfactorily meet Company physical assessments/tests,
- Must exhibit critical thinking skills that solve problems with logical and analytical discipline.
- Have an understanding and advanced knowledge of EMS and transport.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- 5 years as an EMS Paramedic and/or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Associate degree in the EMS or related field.
- Current BLS Certification.
Physical Requirements
- The Business Development Representative must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
