What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUMMER ECE STAFF ASSISTANTS position at Affton School District?
DETAILS:
- All positions are subject to adequate enrollment and are temporary summer positions
- No fringe benefits
- Program location is Affton Early Childhood Center
- Positions needed for preschool-age camps
- Summer School employment is a commitment to work all days in the session
Time Frame
Tentative program dates:
Session 1 -> June 2 – 13, 2025
Session 2 -> June 16 – 27, 2025
(Not in session on June 19 th )
Session 3 -> June 30 – July 11, 2025
( Not in session on July 4 th )
Session 4 -> July 14 – 25, 2025
Program is 8 weeks (4 sessions of two weeks)
Preschoolers will be in session daily from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Staff Assistants work Monday - Friday, 5 hours/day
Position also works equivalent of 2 hrs/session, for pre/post program preparation
Juneteenth on June 19 th is a non-work/school day
Dates may be adjusted by administration as needed
Summer ECE pay dates are TBD
QUALIFICATIONS:
- In addition to a Missouri substitute teaching certificate , one of the following is required:
- 60 college credit hours,
- Associate’s degree or higher,
- Missouri ParaPro Assessment passing score (before September 23, 2013),
- Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment passing score (after September 23, 2013), or
- Completed Missouri’s 20-hour online substitute training program
Pursuant to DESE requirements, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) supports the 20-hour substitute training program as an allowable qualification for paraprofessionals who meet the requirements found in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) (PL 107-110).
A bachelor’s degree and appropriate Missouri teaching certification preferredExternal candidates must have a resume entered into Unified Talent Applicant Tracking, prior to the closing date , in order to be considered for a position. Cover letters and copies of transcripts are optional. Verification of certification and transcripts will be requested upon hire.
Current employees must complete an abbreviated summer Unified Talent application, by applying as an internal applicant.
