Key Skills and Qualifications
This role requires a seasoned Product Development Engineer with a strong background in inside plant or outside plant fiber connector and cable assembly product knowledge to include uses, applications, standards, and industry trends. The ideal candidate will have experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Responsibilities
- Design and develop ISP (Inside Plant) fiber management systems, racks, and related components using advanced 3D modeling and analysis software.
- Lead cross-functional teams during all phases of product development and support existing products.
- Contribute to major testing, process, materials, capital, and quality improvement projects.
- Gather and apply comprehensive knowledge of fiber optic product installation, test, and application methods to all new product development projects.
- Build and test engineering prototypes for design verification.
- Analyze data from design verification testing to identify potential design improvements.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure efficient manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert product knowledge and support.
