AFL is seeking a Production Supervisor for a full time opportunity in Duncan, SC. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of manufacturing associates on multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing operation. The Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for managing all production processes from raw materials to finished wire and cable.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise, monitor, and mentor machine operators to meet established safety, quality, production, and delivery goals.
- Develop a rapport with each operator through daily interactions that build trust and promote open lines of communication.
- Facilitate teamwork between and within process work cells while fairly applying policies and procedures in the workplace.
- Provide leadership through tactical decision making. This includes responding in a timely manner to staffing shortages, material outages, maintenance issues, and other unplanned downtime in order to maintain stable operations.
- Demonstrate strong and consistent support for workplace safety. Set the example by supporting initiatives, actively engaging every operator in AFL’s safety culture, and exceeding Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) objectives.
- Track, monitor, and share team and individual operator performance metrics. Identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Execute sustainable action to accelerate progress and close deficiencies.
- Be a champion for lean manufacturing principles to reduce flowtime, improve operational efficiency and manage costs. This includes the application of 5S, conducting kaizens to reduce changeovers, maintaining a flexible workforce, and other lean techniques.
Requirements & Skills:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Strong math and problem solving skills.
- Ability to analyze manufacturing related problems and rationalize decisions.
- Able to spend considerable time on the shop floor overseeing operations.
- Able to support weekend and night shift operations.
- Professional supervisor training in areas such as leadership, motivation, conflict resolution, time management, and employment compliance a plus
