This full-time, 40-hour position involves maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of discharge areas, ancillary spaces, and administrative zones, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform general cleaning tasks, including the sanitation of discharge rooms, administrative offices, and ancillary areas.
2. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment and storage areas.
3. Execute moving requests and support room setups as needed.
4. Conduct major floor care projects, such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet extraction.
5. Adhere to infection control procedures and report any facility or maintenance concerns.
6. Collaborate with the team to meet cleanliness and scheduling goals.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required:
1. Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services is required; particularly in a healthcare setting.
2. Demonstrated experience with floor care, including stripping, refinishing, buffing, and carpet extraction.
3. Knowledge of infection prevention and control protocols is highly valued.
4. Ability to handle cleaning schedules and respond to requests promptly.
5. Strong time management and organizational skills.
6. Must be able to work rotating weekends as scheduled.
7. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
8. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
9. Ability to lift and move cleaning equipment and supplies as needed.
Education Required:
1. Must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English at a 12th-grade level.
