Job description
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef for a well-reputed remote wilderness lodge the with many repeat and referred fishing/photo/hunting guests starting May and through mid-September. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for fine dining and has a strong background in the food industry. This role is responsible for creating and executing menus, managing the kitchen, and ensuring high-quality food service. You will run an efficient kitchen by producing quality food and working closely with assistants. Wide menu knowledge for various cuisines required. Comfortable private room/board & travel included (within the US), with tips. We are located in a beautiful but remote location so the position is best suited for outdoors-oriented person. During off-hours, good fishing/hunting/kayaking/hiking, Internet & satellite TV.
Responsibilities
- Creation of breakfast and dinner for 8-12 guests on average and 8-10 staff members.
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Develop and implement menus that cater to the tastes and preferences of our guests.
- Manage and lead a team of other kitchen staff to achieve high-quality food service.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional service to guests, ensuring that their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and lead by example in all aspects of the job.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in fine dining or banquet management.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a team and cooperate with other crew
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A passion for helping others and creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
- A strong understanding of the food industry and its trends and standards.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
