Job Summary
The Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies that adhere to local, state, and federal regulations. The Safety Manager will work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety while minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
Duties
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure adherence to workers' compensation law.
- Provide training development for employees on safety protocols, including CPR and first aid certification.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, including root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with management to fabricate effective safety programs tailored to specific operational needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EPA regulations and ensure compliance within the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns within the organization.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a safety management role or similar position within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, and environmental compliance (EPA).
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively.
- Experience in training development related to workplace safety practices.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis of incidents.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
