AFP Systems, Inc specializes in the design, installation, service, and maintenance of automated fire sprinkler systems. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fire alarm inspection and testing procedures, as well as technical expertise in various types of fire alarm systems and their components. This role involves ensuring the proper installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems to comply with relevant codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing and Repair: Test functionality and repair fire alarm systems, including smoke and heat detectors, strobes, and exit signs.
- Inspection: Inspect fire alarm systems to ensure they are installed per NFPA 72 and in compliance with codes.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency service calls and ensure systems are functioning properly.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients and troubleshooting issues with fire alarm systems.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain records required by NFPA-72, including annual device testing.
- Compliance: Maintain devices and ensure compliance with NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
- Team Support: Provide support to Service team and Fire Sprinkler Fitter team as directed
Qualifications:
- Limited Energy Technician license, preferred.
- NICET Level I or II Certifications, preferred.
- Minimum 18 months experience in the inspection and testing of fire alarm and suppression interfaces with extensive knowledge of fire alarm inspection and testing procedures.
- Proficiency in technical areas including types of fire alarm systems and their respective components.
- Familiarity with device and circuit-specific test procedures for initiating devices, notification appliances, supervisory signal-initiating devices, primary and secondary power supplies, emergency communications equipment, and interface with other systems and on/off premise monitoring.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, independent transportation to job sites throughout PNW.
Work Environment:
- This position may require working in various environments, including commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Physical requirements include standing, sitting, bending, lifting, and climbing. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to respond to emergency calls and work flexible hours as needed.
