Job Summary
We are seeking a up-beat kid-friendly Music Producer to lead one or more of our week-long summer camps, called DJ Remix Studio! The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for delivering a fun and engaging 3-hour camp session, each day, teaching children how to make a simple remix of their favorite song. This role involves working with various age groups, 1st-5th grade. Online training & curriculum will be provided.
Camps are hosted at a school in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Seattle for 3-hours each day, applicant must be available to teach all five days (Monday-Friday) of at least one of the following weeks:
6/23-6/27 - 1-4pm - DJ Remix Studio (week 1)
7/21-7/25 - 1-4pm - DJ Remix Studio (week 2)
Duties
- Teach the campers the main controls of the DAW: i.e. how to mute tracks, cut & copy regions, playhead controls.
- Show the campers how to make a simple beat over an 4-bar loop of their stemmed-out song
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a fun but also cohesive learning atmosphere.
- Cultivate Creative Confidence by encouraging the kids to try new things & be okay with making mistakes!
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Experience or knowledge in music production is a must
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with students of all ages.
- A passion for teaching and propensity for positive-thinking.
- Ability to jive with the philosophy that "music is the language of the soul"
