LEGO Robotics Instructor - Elementary Students [After School Enrichment]
Rate:
- $35-$48 per hour for teaching time
- $25 per session for lesson planning and preparation
Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated LEGO Robotics Instructor to lead engaging after-school sessions for elementary students. This part-time role requires one session per week with 1 hour of teaching time, making it ideal for individuals with a flexible schedule or those seeking supplementary work.
If you have experience with LEGO Robotics, LEGO League, LEGO Mindstorms, EV3, or LEGO NXT Robotics, that’s a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
Each session includes:
- 1 hour of teaching time ($35-$48 per hour) – Lead a structured, hands-on robotics lesson.
- 15 minutes before class for setup – Arrive early to prepare materials and set up.
- Material management – Transport and organize LEGO Robotics kits before and after class.
- Lesson planning and preparation ($25 per session) – Develop structured lesson plans and ensure materials are ready before class.
Additional duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging LEGO Robotics lessons suitable for elementary students.
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through hands-on learning.
- Provide guidance and support to students as they build and program robots.
- Ensure classroom safety and proper handling of LEGO Robotics equipment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
- Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field.
- Experience with LEGO Robotics is a plus (LEGO League, LEGO Mindstorms, EV3, or NXT Robotics).
- Teaching or instructional experience (formal or informal).
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Enthusiasm for STEM education and working with kids.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to the full duration of the program.
Schedule:
- Once per week for 1 hour (Fridays)
- Starts March 24, 2025
- Classes take place after school
