Pottery Instructor - Elementary Students

Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is seeking a creative and passionate Pottery Instructor to lead an engaging after-school pottery class for elementary school students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong background in pottery or ceramics. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys inspiring young minds through hands-on activities, fostering creativity, and building skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead 1-2 hour weekly pottery classes for elementary-aged students.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons, including basic pottery techniques such as hand-building, sculpting, and glazing.
- Encourage students to explore their creativity while ensuring a safe and positive classroom atmosphere.
- Provide guidance and instruction to help students develop pottery skills.
- Manage materials and supplies, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
- Communicate with parents and school staff as needed regarding student progress and class updates.
Qualifications:
- Experience in pottery or ceramics (teaching experience preferred but not required).
- Previous experience working with elementary school children in a classroom or after-school setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
- Availability to teach 1-2 hours per week during after-school hours.
