Substitute Cooking Instructor – After-School Enrichment Program
Part-Time | Contract | $30–$37/hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and flexible Substitute Cooking Instructor to fill in as needed for after-school cooking classes. You’ll be responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on lessons when the regular instructor is unavailable. Classes introduce students to cooking basics, kitchen safety, and fun food-prep activities in an interactive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead instructor in the absence of the primary cooking teacher.
- Teach fun, educational cooking lessons using a provided curriculum.
- Guide students through safe, hands-on food preparation activities.
- Reinforce hygiene and food safety practices in the kitchen.
- Prepare, set up, and clean up class materials efficiently.
- Create a welcoming, positive space for all students.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with children in educational or structured settings.
- Familiarity with basic cooking skills and kitchen safety procedures.
- Confident classroom management and ability to engage students.
- Punctual, adaptable, and comfortable with short-notice assignments.
- (Preferred) Background in after-school programs or culinary education.
