DAYTIME Postpartum Doula with After the Stork

Job Description

We are looking for postpartum doulas to provide newborn care in the client's home. We are hiring both part-time and full-time doulas. After the Stork prides ourselves on excellent customer service and care for parents in a time when they need it most.

Location:

We are looking for doulas who are willing to work in Philadelphia (Old City, Rittenhouse Square, Filter Square,) as well as the Main Line Area. Doulas in the Greater Philadelphia area are encouraged to apply since we area always looking for great postpartum doulas.

We are looking for someone who possesses the following:

• The desire to help new parents
• Experience with newborns
• Experience with and a growing knowledge of breastfeeding (we can refer you to excellent resources)
• The desire to increase knowledge in topics relating to newborn babies (breastfeeding, infant development, healthy sleep habits)
• A mature, calming presence that puts a new mom's mind at ease as she leaves her newborn baby in your arms for the night.
• Excellent personal skills so the new mom is able to comfortably relay information regarding her baby's needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Encouraging and supporting the new parents
• Helping with the baby, dishes, laundry, nursery set up, and other responsibilities new parents have
• Assisting with breastfeeding (if you have not breastfed your own children, a breastfeeding class would be required)
• Travel to/from client homes in your own vehicle (we try to schedule you with clients close to your home, but sometimes driving 30-40 minutes is required.)

Hourly Rate: $26.00-28.00 per hour
