What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) - URGENT CARE position at AfterOurs Urgent Care?
Urgent Care clinics in Denver (SE Denver near I-25 and Hampden), Denver Highlands (near Wheat Ridge), Thornton, and Littleton (Broadway and Mineral) are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Mid-level Providers (Family Nurse Practitioner) to join our team. New/recent grads will be considered only with relevant fellowship or residency training in an ER surgical setting. We have part time and full time positions available. Candidates for this position must be comfortable working independently with no additional providers on site during shifts. All clinics are staffed with MA's, X-Ray Techs, and Front Desk staff.
****Current shifts available are primarily nights (4PM-11PM) and weekends (8AM-4PM and 4PM-11PM) and are scattered throughout our 4 clinic locations. Some weekend work (Saturday and/or Sunday) is required and may qualify for extra incentive/differential pay. ****
Our flexible scheduling allows providers to schedule themselves 90 days in advance based on open shifts available at all 4 of our clinic locations. You may choose to work a templated/set schedule or choose different shifts each month for a flexible schedule. Part time providers must work a minimum of 8 shifts per month (2 out of 8 shifts must be worked on a weekend) and may pick up additional shifts, if desired. Full time providers must work 5 shifts per week (a minimum of 4 shifts per month must be worked on a weekend). Providers may swap/trade shifts with each other and shifts may be dropped with a 30 day notice as long as minimum monthly requirements are met. Our clinics are open late (11pm) 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
BENEFITS:

- Holiday Pay: Full time providers receive double pay for any company recognized holidays worked (part time providers receive time and a half pay for any holiday worked.)

- Full time providers are eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, Dependent Care FSA, HSA, retirement plan with 3% company match, $1500 CME allowance per year, PTO with 2 additional days to be used for CME, and Sick Pay
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate patients and perform appropriate physical examinations
- Obtain pertinent medical history
- Order and study diagnostic tests and review relevant laboratory or radiologic (or other) studies to assess the patients medical, physical, psychological status
- Formulate an accurate and appropriate diagnosis based on elicited data and include differential diagnoses as appropriate
- Develop and implement treatment including orders for medication and/or other treatment modalities, the need for additional testing, consultation to other providers, and follow-up provisions
- Provide care and treatment plan with attention to safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
- Perform procedures within the limits of their expertise including I&D’s, basic suturing/laceration repair, etc.
- Educates and counsel patients and their families regarding their treatment plan, including disease prevention and health promotion
- Documents all examination data, diagnostic impressions, appropriate codes, and other patient care activities in the medical record
- Bill for services rendered
OTHER TASKS:
- Conduct telemedicine visits as appropriate
- Manage lab results
- Takes necessary and appropriate actions in emergency situations
- Performs other clinical/administrative duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Completion of recognized FNP program
- License/Certification in Colorado is required
- Maintain DEA certification and full prescribing and dispensing privileges in Colorado
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire
- Must be effective and outgoing
- Possess excellent clinical and interpersonal skills along with fantastic communication skills
- Experience with basic suturing/laceration repair
- Must be comfortable treating all age groups
