What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary After School CHESS and STEM Instructor (Part-Time) position at Afterschool Enrichment Solutions?
Afterschool Enrichment Solutions was founded in 2001 as an after school chess club. Today we work with thousands of schools and provide a wide array of programming to over 30,000 students.
Live in the Deerfield, IL area? Be the spark that ignites creativity and knowledge this spring and summer. We are seeking reliable and dynamic chess and STEM instructors to lead engaging after school courses.
A working knowledge of the game of chess (including castling, pawn promotion, piece value, strategies, etc.) is required to teach the class. Curriculum will be provided to teach the classes.
An ideal candidate must be at least 18 years of age, possess an energetic personality and have excellent classroom management skills. The children are mostly between the ages of 6 and 12 so experience with youth is a plus!
Rate: $40-$60 per one-hour class taught
Reliable transportation is required. Commitment for 8-10 weeks is required. This is a part-time, 1099 position (contract).
Expectations:
- Must be available for all dates
- Experience with the game of chess
- Must arrive to class 15-minutes prior to start
- Payments are issued on a monthly basis, following month of service, i.e. October classes are issued in November, on or before the 21st of the month
