Part-Time Elementary Spring Break Camp Instructors

Have fun teaching spring break day-camp enrichment classes to groups of elementary school kids! Afterschool Enrichment Solutions was founded in 2001 as an after school chess club. Today we work with thousands of schools and provide a wide array of programming to over 30,000 students.

Live in the Saint James, NY 11780 area? Be the spark that ignites creativity and knowledge this spring. We are seeking dynamic instructors to lead engaging courses in :

• Chess
• STEAM/Science
• Coding

No prior knowledge required for most subjects, since we provide user-friendly lesson plans to guide you through each class.

Chess knowledge is required in order to teach chess classes (e.g. piece value, castling, pawn promotion, strategies, etc.).

An ideal candidate must be at least 18 years of age with excellent classroom management skills and have an energetic personality. The students are primarily between the ages of 6 and 12, so experience with youth is a plus!

$40 per hour - 3-hour classes ($120)

$50 per hour - 2-hour class ($100)

Reliable transportation is required. Commitment for the full week of classes is required. This is a part-time, 1099 position. The schedule is as follows:

Start Date: April 14, 2025
End Date: April 18, 2025

Start Time: 09:30 AM
End Time: 12:30 PM

Expectations:

• Must be available for all dates
• Must arrive to class 15-minutes prior to start
• Payments are issued on a monthly basis, following month of service, i.e. January classes are issued in February, on or before the 21st of the month
• Must complete a W-9, this is a contract position
• All materials needed for class will be available on-site
