Summary
In this role, the candidate must possess significant experience in the design and documentation of complex medium to large building structures for commercial, institutional, mission critical, educational, aviation, or healthcare projects. The position requires participating with an assigned design team in the delivery of projects, including delivering required project documentation and calculations. This is a regular full-time position with a traditional work schedule. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00. Employees are expected to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks on a timely basis.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Technical
- Performs work generally under the direction of a licensed professional engineer and in concert with other Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers, Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Associate Principals, Principals, and above.
- Performs structural analysis and design through hand calculations or computer modeling, as directed
- Develops knowledge in structural detailing
- Assists Project Engineers or Project Manager in:
- Selection of project materials and structural configurations
- Preparing general notes and selection typical details for projects
- Writing structural specifications
- Coordinating structural design with architectural and other engineering disciplines
- Delivering project documentation and calculations on schedule and within budget
- Provides construction contract administration services including answering RFI’s, reviewing shop drawings and submittals
- May perform site observations and prepare written reports of observations
- May support other design engineers on larger projects
- Assists in developing and presenting content for internal technical training
- May be involved in the design of multiple projects simultaneously
- Coordinates tasks for support staff
- Reviews work of other engineers and projects, as assigned
- Supervises other team members, as assigned
- Attends client meetings as requested
- Documents and reports meeting discussions
- Engages counterparts with external project contacts and develops and grows networking relationships
- Attends networking events, open houses, and industry events
Educational, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- BS in Architectural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis) from an EAC/ABET accredited program, required
- MS in Architectural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis) from an EAC/ABET accredited program, preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience (may be reduced with MS degree and/or SE license)
- Pursuing professional engineering license in state of residence (structural designation)
- Pursuing completion of the NCEES Structural Engineering exam (16 hours)
- Experience in working with concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, and wood, preferred
- Bentley RAM Structural System or Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) and related program modules
- Autodesk Revit and BIM 360
- Must have working knowledge of applicable building and reference codes
- Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Demonstrates a sound working knowledge of current role and the impact the role has on other business functions with the organization

- Ability to follow detailed procedures to ensure accuracy of work

- Travel is required to project job sites and to the Companies various offices, as needed
- This position may require occasionally air and over-the-road travel. Including attending early morning or evening events outside of 8-5 hours.
- When visiting projects must be in compliance with OSHA requirements
