Harness Sales Specialist

Position Summary:

Ag Express Electronics is seeking a Harness Sales Specialist who will be responsible for recommending, quoting, and coordinating the delivery of innovative harness systems tailored to customer applications. This role serves as a key liaison between customers and internal teams—ensuring technical accuracy, timely order fulfillment, and a high level of customer service. This role supports business growth through technical expertise, responsive communication, and cross-departmental coordination.

This position is located at any of our 3 facilities: Des Moines, Iowa; Grand Island, Nebraska; or Sulphur Springs, Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise

• Design, recommend, quote, and sell Ag Express systems and harnesses needed to help customers solve their application goals.
• Develop new and modified harness and cable designs, including custom configurations
• Create bills of materials, including labor, for custom/new harnesses.
• Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and product advancements.

Customer Interaction

• Serve as a main point of contact for customer relationships by receiving and responding to inbound phone calls, emails, and other communications regarding Ag Express products and services.
• Communicate with farmers and implement dealers concerning order status.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and support.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with manufacturing and shipping to ensure orders are processed and fulfilled efficiently.
• Work with the production manager to schedule and build wiring harnesses.
• Foster positivity by contributing to a collaborative and engaging work environment.
• Attend sales meetings and product training sessions.

Effective Communication

• Communicate with farmers and dealers about order status and wiring harness builds.
• Maintain excellent customer service, addressing issues promptly and providing support.

Continuous Improvement

• Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements for the harness sales process, portfolio, and tools
• Represent Ag Express at public events, public forums, and industry trade shows in professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary for effective collaboration with coworkers, managers, and customers.
• Meticulous attention to detail with demonstrated ability to use good judgment in demanding situations.
• Positive approach to navigating challenges with a solutions-oriented approach, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Work Experience: Experience in harness production and/or customer service is advantageous. Background in agriculture preferred.
• Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment and computer applications such as MS 365.
• Certifications: Preferred; IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally, the role may involve lifting and carrying office equipment or materials weighing up to a certain limit.
• Standing and Walking: Ability to navigate various departments and facilities within the organization’s premises as part of operational engagement.
• Communication: Skill in exchanging accurate information with customers, co-workers, vendors, etc., utilizing verbal, written, and electronic communication methods.
• Sitting for Extended Periods: Much of the work will be conducted at a desk requiring the ability to sit for extended periods while performing tasks.
• Repetitive Motion: Some tasks may involve repetitive motions of the hands, especially prolonged periods of typing on a computer to perform administrative and operational tasks. Ergonomic practices should be followed to minimize the risk of repetitive strain injuries.
• Safety Awareness: Awareness of and adherence to safety protocols and procedures is essential when navigating the organization’s facilities to ensure compliance and minimize the risk of workplace hazards or accidents.
