What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary School Teacher position at AG Montessori School?
AG Montessori School is looking to welcome an experienced, passionate, and dedicated co-lead teacher to support our growing Elementary program. AG Montessori believes children should be nurtured and celebrated as individuals in order for them to unlock their love for learning and build on their natural curiosity.
The school is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Academic Schools and is registered as a charitable non-profit organization.
- Cultivate a welcoming, nurturing, respectful, inspiring, empowering, and safe learning environment.
- Establish and maintain effective communications with parents and caregivers through conferences, meetings, informal communication, emails, classroom newsletters, progress reports, and educational workshops
- Facilitate classroom volunteer opportunities for caregivers
- Maintain thorough and accurate record-keeping and observation notes for each student
- Facilitate student-led “going out’s” for small groups
- Attend all school meetings and school-related functions
- Prepare and order materials, curate a resource-rich classroom, and maintain a prepared environment that engages students in all curricular areas
- Lead individual, small and large group lessons, as necessary
- Provide classroom management during work cycles
- Supervise and guide support staff who work directly with the students in your classroom
- Model grace and courtesy and maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the school at all times
- Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all school standards
- Be responsible and flexible for all other duties as assigned. The role of a Montessori teacher is many-faceted.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Strong personal communication skills and written communication skills
- All mandated clearances and trainings as required
- A Pennsylvania teacher license
- Demonstrate a growth mindset for professional and personal growth, and comfort with self-reflection
- Ability to relate to and inspire students on their independent educational journey
- Engages enthusiastically with peers as members of the same team
- Ideal candidates will be eager to learn, flexible and able to adapt to any situation that arises
