SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist ensures quality compliance by managing quality assurance paperwork, SQF program requirements, grading samples, and making cleaner adjustments to maintain product standards. They also coordinate truck dispatching, in/out paperwork, and logistics to support efficient transportation. Additionally, this role assists with office administration and accounting tasks as assigned, ensuring accurate records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned.)
Responsible for:
- Complete and maintain QA paperwork to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Manage and oversee the SQF (Safe Quality Food) program, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Perform grading of product samples to assess quality, consistency, and adherence to standards. Make necessary cleaner adjustments to optimize product quality and reduce defects.
- Process and organize incoming and outgoing paperwork, including bills of lading, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Schedule and dispatch trucks for incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support, both in person and over the phone.
- Operate the grain scale for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Operate cleaning equipment in the office and processing plant as directed and needed in support of the cleaning operations.
- Utilize accounting software for various tasks and support the accounting/finance team as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires a high school diploma; at least one year of office experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience. Must have proficient computer skills and be willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.
REASONING ABILITY
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
