Position: Farm Equipment Operator
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various types of equipment used in the application of agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and other crop inputs.
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to crops according to prescribed procedures and safety guidelines.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate application rates and minimize waste.
- Monitor weather conditions and follow appropriate protocols to ensure safe and effective application.
- Keep accurate records of applications, including product usage, field conditions, and equipment maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to protect personal health and the environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, agronomists, and other team members to coordinate application schedules and address any issues or concerns.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Stay informed about advancements in application technology and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in training programs to maintain required certifications and stay up-to-date on industry regulations and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Ability to achieve appropriate licensing.
- Ability to work around chemicals and obtain hazmat.
- Must be able to work overtime hours in peak seasons (fall and spring).
- Able to maintain Class A CDL with financial assistance from company.
