Job Title: Office Clerk
Reports to: Location Manager & VP of Grain
Summary: Provides the location clerical assistance by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports AgPlus’ stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
- Projects a positive attitude and image to customers and employees at all times.
- Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.

Read and follow company employee policies.
- Promotes and supports all Ag Plus programs.
- Writes, types, or enters information into the computer system to prepare correspondence, receipts, contracts, checks, billing documents, and inventory support.
- Perform filing activities when necessary.
- Weigh and grade incoming and outgoing grain loads and perform any necessary testing.
- Responsible for handling mail, stamping, sorting, and distributing mail, and preparing items for courier service.
- Answers telephone, conveys messages and runs errands.
- Keeps the office and work area clean.
- Uses the Ag Plus computer system to input data concerning branch customer information.
- Produces month-end and year-end reports from Ag Plus’ computer system.
- Keeps the Location Manager informed of operational, customer, vendor, or employee issues that may arise.
- Executes rail car billing in a timely manner.
- Keeps constant communication with rail buyers on specs, billing instructions, and car movements.
- Prepares daily bank deposits by scanning customer checks accurately, per policy, and in a timely manner.
- Performs additional tasks that may be required.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
