Mechanic

Long-standing agricultural contractor needs an experienced Mechanic. We are actively engaged in long-term projects in agricultural development and commercial building erection and need additional crew members to support our growth. If you enjoy working outdoors and in a positive work environment, you’ll love the camaraderie among our top-notch crew. Primary work location is out of our shop in Sunnyside, WA with occasional on-site work for different jobs. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Properly diagnose mechanical problems regarding heavy and light duty diesel trucks, trailers, tractor and other heavy equipment and provide accurate and timely repairs.  
  
• Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. 
• Orders and installs replacement parts for machines. 
• Prepares reports documenting work performed. 
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies. 
• Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on fleet and machines. 
• Performs Other related duties as assigned.  

Skills/Abilities: 

• Good communication skills.  
• 3 years experience performing periodic and preventative maintenance on heavy and light duty diesel trucks, trailers, tractors amongst other heavy equipment.
• Prior experience working in a mechanic setting for a commercial construction company or other agricultural business preferred. 
• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills. 
• Comfortable working in rural areas and all types of weather conditions.  

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods standing and walking. 
• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. 
• Must be able to visually inspect machines. 
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 
  

We are looking for a couple years of experience. Candidates should have a clean driving record to be insurable under our company policy and be able to pass a drug screen, as we do pre-employment and random testing. Our pay scale is competitive and varies with skill and experience.
