What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Engine Mechanic position at AG-PRO LLC?
Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned work efficiently and on schedule; communicate delays or additional repair needs to the Service Manager.
- Maintain accurate time records for each task performed.
- Recommend additional services to improve machine performance and customer satisfaction.
- Provide professional advice to customers when needed.
- Ensure all requested parts are billed correctly and return unused parts promptly.
- Submit detailed work order information upon completing each job.
- Perform off-site repairs when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining company assets and tools.
- Attend training sessions and company events as required.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Repair and maintain small engines and electrical components used to power lawn and agricultural equipment.
- Perform trouble shooting to detect and diagnose mechanical concerns by using manufacturers guidelines and resources.
- Demonstrate team work to co-workers and fellow employees.
- Consistently strive to improve percentage of billable hours to meet or exceed the quota.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with John Deere equipment or similar product lines is a plus.
- Ability to use dealership software (IntelliDealer) or willingness to learn.
- Capability to safely operate vehicles and machinery required for the job.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum of two years of hands on equipment repair or graduate of relevant vocational or college courses.
- Must have valid drivers license
- Must be able to pass a Pre Employment Criminal Background Screening and Drug Test.
- Must have necessary tools to perform the position.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Must be able to stand, squat, and kneel for extended periods of time.
