About the Company

AG Transfer LLC (“the Company”) operates a grain transload facility in Minneapolis, MN, managing the loading of bulk grain products into shipping containers . At the yard located in NE Minneapolis, the team operates a fleet of semi-tractors, yard hostlers (aka Yard Jockey or Spotter), and other heavy equipment used for the daily operations within the yard.

Job Description

The Yard Driver position will operate yard trucks (hostlers) to position large shipping containers for loading and pickup at our facility, and will learn to operate loading equipment and scales to ensure the proper weights are loaded into each container. Yard Drivers will be responsible for accurately documenting container numbers and weights, assist with the unloading process of inbound hopper trucks, and work well as part of a small team to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines.

Additional responsibilities may include added tasks assigned by the manager such as installing cardboard bulkheads prior to loading containers, maintaining proper inventories of supplies, and upkeeping facility grounds. Employees will be expected to learn and follow safety policies and procedures at all times.

This is a full-time position. Early morning start time, day shift Monday through Friday.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Eager to be trained and able to master process to back-up yard trucks and trailers into position.
• Follow all safety practices and adherence to safety policies and procedures of the facility.
• Show a willingness to be cross trained in all functions at the facility.
• Prefer candidates with experience driving yard trucks or related equipment such as forklift.
• Basic data entry skills; able to accurately document container numbers.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Work well in a fast-paced environment with dependability, great attendance.
• Must be able to physically climb up and down transloading equipment and ladders safely.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and maintain balance throughout the day.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, and sub-freezing temperatures.
• Ability to carry fifty (50) pounds.
• Good hearing and hand-eye coordination.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive pay based on experience, starting at $20.00 /hr.

• Starting Pay: $20.00/hr., depending on experience.
