About the Company
AG Transfer LLC (“the Company”) operates a bulk grain transload facility Elwood, IL. The Company receives loads of grain or grain by-products, transfers the product into shipping containers and prepares them for export. The team uses a fleet of semi trucks, yard hostlers, and other heavy equipment for daily operation in the process of loading intermodal shipping containers for export.

Job Description
Yard Laborers will be responsible for flexing into different roles around the yard, assisting where needed with the transload process of emptying inbound rail cars and hopper trucks, and working closely with team members to prioritize workflow to meet deadlines. Additional responsibilities include installing cardboard bulkheads prior to loading and general upkeep of facility grounds during and after loading operations each day. Must be dependable and on time daily, work as part of a small team, and follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
This is a full-time position with at least 40 hours a week with overtime. Start at 6:00AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional or rare weekend work.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have reliable transportation to arrive on time daily, early start
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute as part of a team
- On the job training provided; Promotion options if a willingness to learn different functions at the facility,
- Must be able to physically climb up and down transloading equipment and ladders safely.
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and maintain balance throughout the day. Able to carry fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including heat and rain, with good hearing and hand-eye coordination.
- Knowledge of basic safety practices; Learn and follow facility's safety policies and procedures.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
