Our Nurse Practitioner is a crucial part of our mission with their primary responsibilities being to provide optimal care to patients handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to ensure patient health. The Nurse Practitioner will work under the supervision of the Physician and consult with Physicians when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, and/or chronic illnesses
- Review and maintain patient’s medical histories, records and record patients' progress.
- Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
- Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care
- Research the latest treatments, innovations, advances, and trends in the medical industry.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of NP experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Room or Primary Care is preferred, but not a must
- Requires bachelor and master’s degrees from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current New York State professional license: board certification by the NCCPA and BLS certification, required.
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
