What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custom Applicator position at Ag Valley Cooperative?
Job Description:
Operator of custom application equipment in the application of fertilizer and chemicals to customer's fields.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for operating within Ag Valley Coop Policies/Procedures and Government Regulations
- Responsible for accurate application of fertilizer and/or chemicals per blend sheet specifications
- Maintain and repair equipment according to maintenance schedule, policies and procedures
- Communicate with Managers and Sales staff to assure safe, accurate quality, efficient and timely application
- Work in any area of operation or production as assigned by the Location Manager (grain elevator, soil sampling, etc.)
- Interact with customers in a professional manner
- Supervise drivers in product transfer operations
- Work safely following safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements. Exhibit attitude and actions consistent with policies
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership in his/her work and application equipment used
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and basic math skills
- Custom application experience or ability to develop custom application skills
- Have or be able to obtain a Custom Applicators Licenses
- Have or be able to obtain a class A Commercial Driver's License with TANKER endorsements
- Willing to work other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Self motivated, dependable and attentive to details
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Repair and maintenance skills
- Working knowledge of agricultural chemical and fertilizer applications
- Proficient in use of electronics found on custom application equipment
