Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and will be responsible for providing essential medical and personal care in a group home setting. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through effective support, care, and engagement.
Duties
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication protocols.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal hygiene.
- Provide first aid and emergency care as needed, maintaining a safe environment for all residents.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily routines, fostering independence and self-sufficiency.
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Engage residents in memory care activities to promote cognitive function and social interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care, medication administration, and any incidents or changes in health status.
- Drive residents to appointments or community activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
- Familiarity with group home environments and social work practices is highly desirable.
- Proficient in medication administration techniques and protocols.
- Knowledge of memory care strategies to support cognitive health.
- Ability to provide home community care that promotes independence while ensuring safety.
- First aid certification is preferred; must be willing to obtain if not currently certified.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members.
- A valid driver's license is required.
