Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, particularly in a Montessori or preschool setting. This role is essential in fostering childhood development and ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive.
Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote a positive learning environment.
- Support children with special education needs and those working with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity in all classroom activities.
- Supervise children during classroom activities and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to childhood education and Montessori methods.
- Document children's progress and assist in preparing reports for parents or guardians.
Requirements
- Experience or education in early childhood development, special education, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Montessori principles is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with young children and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team within a private school or preschool setting.
- Experience with toddler care or working with children with disabilities is highly desirable.
- A passion for educating young minds and fostering a love for learning.
