Agave Wire seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Applications Engineer to join our team. WHAT we need you to do.
- Serve as the technical expert for wire and cable products, providing application engineering support to customers and sales teams.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand customer requirements and provide product solutions that meet technical and commercial needs.
- Analyze and evaluate customer specifications, designs, and applications to recommend appropriate products and configurations.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to customers, illustrating product capabilities, performance, and benefits.
- Assist customers in the integration, installation, and troubleshooting of products to ensure optimal performance.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for product designs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer specifications and internal requirements.
- Establish quality requirements for all new product development initiatives (i.e., OEM / customer requirements, regulatory requirements, etc.)
- Collaborate with process engineering, operations and maintenance on all manufacturing trials of new products to ensure a smooth launch.
- Liaise with process engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, the project management team and the technology team to drive the new product development process.
- Manage new product development initiatives from inception through the pilot phase at which time products will be handed over to process engineering and operations.
- Lead technical discussions with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve product performance.
- Provide technical training to sales teams, customers, and partners on product applications, features, and industry standards.
- Support testing and validation of products to ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Manage regulatory projects needed for new product development initiatives.
- Support ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiatives as they relate to new and existing products.
- Manage product packaging (design, regulatory compliance, etc.).
- Collaborate with marketing on technical data sheets and publishings.
- Actively monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for product differentiation.
- Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction through innovative technical solutions and superior support.
- Document technical requirements, findings, and recommendations for internal use and customer reference.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT you need to possess.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, or a related role, ideally in the wire, cable, or electrical products industry.
- Strong understanding of wire and cable applications, materials, and performance standards.
- Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for complex product designs.
- Experience interpreting and analyzing technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and engineering tools for design evaluation and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to develop and implement technical solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product development, and manufacturing teams.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, industry events, and trade shows as needed.
