Agave Wire is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to assist in technical development and refinement of its manufacturing operations and processes. The role will be responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring new processes as well as continuous improvement of existing processes to meet production demand, productivity goals, new product development initiatives and the overall Agave Wire business plan.
WHAT we need you to do.
- Learn, support, develop and optimize all wire and cable related equipment and processes.
- Continuously improve existing equipment by improving efficiencies, reducing scrap, etc.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to establish proper equipment maintenance and continuously improve equipment performance.
- Implement processes and procedures for all new equipment.
- Enter product specifications and QC requirements into ERP system
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to:
- Processes (human errors, procedural errors, etc.)
- Raw Materials (supplier issues, contamination, etc.)
- Equipment (machine failures, design flaws, etc.)
- Optimize productivity via run rates, processes/procedures, scrap reduction, material usage, etc.
- Design and procure tooling / equipment as needed.
- Develop plant layouts and tool / equipment drawings as needed.
- Contribute to cross-departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed, occasionally supporting maintenance, operations, and engineering at other sites.
- Oversee raw material:
- Establish Incoming inspections
- Troubleshooting material related issues
- Working with suppliers to determine root cause and dispositions.
- Qualify new materials.
- Quality Control
- Build product specifications.
- Develop / implement testing procedures.
- When applicable, operator training
- Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing
- Wire & Cable Equipment KPI’s
- Potential Involvement in Regulatory Services, (NRTL) Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories, Industry Standards including but not limited to UL, ETL, SAE, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, CSA, NEMA, NEC, and ISO (9001:2015; 14001).
- Conferences with management and supervision to ensure efficient production methods.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements: for establishing and striving to improve process cycle times.
- Technical interface between customer; and development/validation groups globally.
- Develop project plans and liaise with customers in moving projects forward.
- Define the product application and performance requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation for communication to internal and external customers to communicate actions to be taken and technical requirements with a high level of accuracy.
- Domestic and International travel may be required

WHAT you need to possess.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in wire drawing or comparable metals experience.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of electrical, mechanical and chemical processes and principles.
- Sound problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented with excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to prioritize.
- Motivated individual who needs little or no guidance.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and concepts; Black Belt certification is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in ISO 9001;2015 and/or IATF 16949 is preferred.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
