JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager/Director of US Finance works as a key leadership team member of the Seattle and Colorado sites business partnering with the GMs of the sites and the EVP of US Operations, working alongside Global EVP Finance and key Global Executive team members to drive business growth and profitability through effective financial management, planning, forecasting, reporting, systems and controls for the overall North America Region.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead financial role supporting the North American operations in the areas of finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and cash management
- Key member of EVP Finance, EVP US Operations, and regional site leadership teams
- Responsible for timely and accurate financial statements prepared by shared service accounting and transaction processing teams. Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and parent company accounting policies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes for the region to support global initiatives. Work with site and regional leadership teams to develop detailed, accurate, and timely plans.
- Provide financial support and analysis for capital investment projects, including cash flow and return on investment analysis
- Oversee cash flow planning, forecasting, cost controls, and expense targets, ensuring the availability of funds as needed for the region
- Develop KPIs and monitoring tools for the business to enable financial predictability, monitor performance, and recommend actions to enhance operational performance
- Enhance financial knowledge of the organization, and understand the operational business levels
- Escalate financial risks and offer solutions to avoid/reduce negative impacts
- Ensure compliance with local taxes (B&O, sales & use, property, etc.) working with the shared services teams and parent company partners
- Provide financial guidance on customer contract terms and revenue recognition in conjunction with the global controllership team
- Ensure that the organization’s accounting records are maintained in accordance with established legal, regulatory (e.g. tax), and company standards.
- Ensure maintenance and appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and useful financial and management reporting for both internal and parent company (AGC Japan).
- Oversee the coordination of financial audits, SOX Controls, and the proper filing of tax (B&O, sales & use, property) returns.
- Actively monitor financial risks and ensure that risk mitigation strategies are in place.
- Manage relationships with external consultants, auditors, and insurance representatives.
- Identify key priorities and problems, obtain relevant information, identify root causes, and generate alternative solutions to reach sound management decisions
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting with an MBA strongly preferred
- Expertise in IFRS/GAAP accounting standards is a must
- CPA certification a plus
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a management role, preferably in a life sciences or production environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent Excel skills
- ERP implementation skills a plus
- SOX environment a plus
COMPENSATION RANGE
$124,320 to $226,050, depending on level and experience
