AgCall Inc. has an exciting opportunity for agricultural professionals in select geographies in the U.S. to complete field trial data gathering activities during the 2025 growing season. This is a contract project in the biologicals industry beginning in January and ending in October 2025. Associates will be recruiting and working with peanuts, soybeans, corn, and cotton growers to conduct field visits and ensure adherence to the protocol at various points during the growing season. Associates will be responsible for 4 to 8 farms within their territory. Communication with growers will be of the utmost importance to ensure presence during key field activities.
Requirements:
- Must be available for day travel to make on-farm visits from Application through Harvest 2025, conducting 3 to 5 site visits at specific points during the growing season (initial grower meeting, application, post application samples, and harvest)
- Maintain contact with each grower, calling 3 to 4 times during the season to collect information and schedule field activities
- Must be willing to recruit and manage 4 to 8 grower’s plots within approximately a 200-mile radius
- Strong production ag and agronomy background, and understanding of plot protocol management
- Must be able to complete soil samples, tissue samples, root digs, assess vigor and disease in crops, and other field assessments as required by protocol
- Must be able to identify the field plot and mark using GPS and flags
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Ready access to a computer, email, and smartphone and familiarity with agronomic smartphone apps
- May be active or retired growers, retailers, crop/seed salesmen, agronomists or other ag professionals.
- Must be comfortable meeting with farmers and growers
Tasks:
- Attend the technical and safety training sessions to be held by video conference in February. Attendance is required.
- Recruit 4-8 growers to perform field trial
- Establish and manage 4 to 8 plots, with the objectives of capturing planting, application and yield data, field samples, grower’s comments, and photos.
- Work closely with your assigned project manager as you contact participating growers and set up each trial.
- Ensure grower understanding and adherence to the plot protocol established by the client.
- Be available during the 3 to 5 critical contact points throughout the growing season defined below, working within the grower’s schedule for the duration of the project, especially during planting, product application, and harvest.
- Additional visits during the season may be required depending on growing conditions
- Duties will range from phone contact and follow up with the grower cooperator, up to and including:
1. Introductory Phone Call- Ensure protocol understood, appropriate equipment, agreement signed, etc.
2. Application visit- Ensure proper application, mark GPS treated vs. untreated areas, collect samples, and take photos
3. Post Application visit- Capture photo assets, collect samples, stand counts, disease assessment, and grower observations if applicable
4. Harvest Timing visit- Harvest data, grower feedback, collect photos, and request testimonials etc.
- Keep detailed observations and data from each site visit and report them online as per AgCall instruction within 24 hours.
- Provide feedback and photographic evidence of any compromised trials whether from an error (incorrect applications, excessively weedy fields, etc.) or from weather occurrence (hail, frost, drought, flooding, etc.)
- Complete required paperwork correctly and send administrative paperwork to AgCall within predetermined timelines
- Report to the AgCall project manager (Laura Nielsen) on a weekly basis
Training:
A one-day training session will be held in February by video conference. Attendance is required. Associates will report directly to AgCall and will also receive training on the data collection and submission procedures that are required for payment. We provide a very competitive wage with a bonus structure for all projects. Associates earn an hourly base rate, bonuses and mileage and expense reimbursement.
