Appraiser - Lumberton, Whiteville, Greenville, Raleigh, Fayetteville, or Elizabeth City

AgCarolina Farm Credit has an open position for a Certified General Appraiser. In this role, the appraiser will complete timely field inspections and develop credible opinions of value through great customer service and commitment to learning and growing. The appraiser will assist in performing real estate and chattel appraisals, collect and analyze support data, and assist other members of the Appraisal Department in the coordination of the association's appraisal program. The General Appraiser will contribute to all our business objectives including "Navigate Our Association Safely and Soundly". This position would report to the Chief Appraiser.

How you will impact AgCarolina Farm Credit :

  • Completes USPAP compliant appraisals processes involving inspections, observation, description, and analysis of the property to form a credible opinion of property value
  • Responsible for obtaining, analyzing and maintaining sales, building costs, and chattel database
  • Develops and maintains real property sales data and other information for use in the evaluation and appraisal functions
  • Submits appraisals as required by FCA, Bank and Association appraisals regulations and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisals Practice (USPAP)
  • Assists as directly by Chief Appraiser in the complete of special studies and projects
  • Build strong relationships in order to return maximum value
  • Effectively communicate with customers and team members
  • Demonstrates a commitment to learning and growing by proactively following development plan
  • Maximizes quality business growth to meet Association's profitability and other business plan objectives
  • What you need to succeed :

  • Education and / or experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
  • NC State Certified General Appraiser
  • General knowledge of principles of real estate appraisal and application of the three approaches to value as well as Federal, State, and local laws affecting real estate and chattel values
  • Specialized appraisal training from both internal and external sources such as CE courses defined by NC Appraisal Board and American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers
  • Strong organizational, project management, planning, and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of agriculture and property values to inspect real estate properties and equipment within the territory is a plus
  • Ability to inspect rural homes and farms including forest lands
  • General knowledge of computers and software applications including Word, Excel, and appraisal related software such as AgWare, NarrativeOne, and WinTotal
