What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Scientist, JBLM, WA position at AGEISS Inc?
We are seeking Environmental Scientists to provide full time on-site support at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, WA. This effort will include providing assistance in normal day-to-day management functions of Hazardous Materials Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), Toxic Substance and Control Act, air quality, and outreach requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and update environmental hazardous materials (HM) tracking database such as the Enterprise Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH- MIS) to include data entry of HM inventories and SDS research.
- Ensure data quality/integrity (QA/QC) and conduct data analysis for hazardous materials in support of EESOH-MIS and EPCRA reporting requirements.
- Provide instruction for users of the environmental hazardous materials tracking database.
- Develop and distribute Authorized Use List(s) in compliance with sustainable acquisition and other related legal requirements.
- Conduct environmental project reviews.
- Plan, develop, and implement environmental education communication and outreach initiatives.
- Develop and update outreach products, news articles, flyers, brochures, posters and presentations.
- Develop, implement maintain, and monitor social media and environmental website.
- Conduct greenhouse gas and emission reporting.
- Support synthetic minor air permit reporting.
- Conduct air emissions inventories.
- Provide asbestos awareness training.
- Inspect projects for asbestos or lead based paint issues.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree and two years of related environmental experience or at least 10 years of environmental experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; 10-key a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with a diverse group of people to include internal feedback.
- Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance for a Common Access Card (CAC) is required.
- Knowledge of DoD required.
- Motivated, outgoing self-starters requested.
