Overview:
Maintenance Technicians ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing repairs and preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic systems, and other production machines.
Responsibilities:
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
- Unload hazardous materials into storage vessels.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including basic wiring, pipe fitting, and small motor repair.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Must be proficient with hand and power tools.
- Must have basic grinding, cutting, and brazing skills.
- Must be familiar with hot work permitting and lockout tagout.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills.
- Skills in welding and fabrication are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
