What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Agente Staffing?
Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one-year experience in a warehouse setting and the ability to use various tools.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks in the warehouse using an overhead crane.
- Effectively use all tools associated with performing duties including reading tape measures, calipers, etc.
- Ability to read and understand Company work orders and fill them out correctly.
- Operate overhead and wall cranes utilizing remote controls in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload incoming trucks using chains, plate hooks and magnets.
- Inspect and color code all incoming loads for inventory accuracy.
- Pick and package orders as necessary.
- Operate all equipment needed in workstation such as overhead and wall cranes, hand torches, electro magnets, etc.
- Miscellaneous duties as necessary.
- Read and understand all paperwork including Mill Bills of Lading and Company work orders.
- Must have 1 year minimum of warehouse experience.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to stand/walk 90% of shift.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when required.
- Must use considerable skill and care in picking up, moving and accurately positioning loads to avoid excessive swinging of loads.
- Ability to use a tape measure, micrometer, hand grinder, remote operated overhead cranes, and forklifts.
- Bending and stooping required approximately 50% of work day.
- Non-climate controlled facility.
- Forklift experience a plus.
- Overhead crane experience a plus.
