Position Responsibilities :
Compliance Management
Oversee, monitor, and coordinate the agency's Compliance Program. Collaborate with and support agency leadership on compliance matters to ensure adherence with laws, regulations, standards, guidelines, and best practices. Periodically revise the compliance program as necessary to meet the needs of AgeSpan and to comply with relevant laws.Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the agency, in collaboration with outside counsel and agency leadership.Develop / draft agency and Board of Directors required policies as needed.Collaborate with Director of Quality and Accreditation as needed to fulfill requirements of AgeSpan Compliance Plan, CMS, EOEA, NCQA and any contractual and / or regulatory requirements. Positively contribute to the evolution of agency quality assurance and improvement efforts.Maintain and administer Agency's General and Professional Liability programs including Board of Directors Liability and Workers' Compensation Insurance policies. Serve as point of contact and liaise with agency insurers in coordination with Agency leadership.Advise the CEO and members of the leadership team on areas of concern related to consumer-related activities, including working with outside attorneys in matters relating to consumer issues or our various professional insurance carriers. Work with Human Resources on issues or concerns related to potential liability, labor law, personnel policies or practices as requested. Participate in agency response to data breaches.Support survey processes across the agency, determining opportunities for collaboration and bringing stakeholders together.In collaboration with relevant departments, develop, conduct, and ensure completion of mandatory trainings for employees, interns, and volunteers on such topics as Whistleblower, Fire Safety, Human Service Worker Safety Training, Fraud, Waste & Abuse, Data Privacy, HIPAA and confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, and Code of Conduct.Provide leadership around compliance issues by participating in agency committees and Board of Directors initiatives.Serve as liaison with outside counsel on legal matters.Contract Management
Draft and / or review all agency and programmatic agreements in concert with the Director of Contract Management to ensure agency term requirements, compliance, and tracking capability.Oversee the management of agency contracts, MOU's and letters of agreement, ensuring a complete and effective provider network that delivers quality services for all AgeSpan purchase of service clients.Develop requirements for maintaining a Contract Management System to ensure consistent flow and accountability through contracting process and ongoing management of the contract.Collaborate with Provider Relations and Quality staff to monitor contracted home care service performance and compliance. Provide guidance on strategies with Providers in instances of amendments to contracts or violations of policy.Assist the CEO, CFO, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer in areas of new business ventures by evaluating opportunities and participating in the negotiation of contracts and business associate agreements. Partner with Agency leadership to negotiate or develop contracts with payers or business partners.Support RFP process, collaborating with business owners in agency. Provides guidelines, policy, and templates.Oversee and supervise contract management staff and operations.Assist the CFO in administering insurance and vendor contracts as needed and requested.Facilities Management & Safety
Oversee facilities staff and operations, including maintaining strong working relationships with landlords and vendors at two sites.Manage facilities, safety, and security, while ensuring superior customer service in the daily interface with staff, volunteers, and community members. Oversight includes Emergency Management, Maintenance & Facilities, Space and Relocation Projects. Must be available to triage emergent issues 24-7 when not on PTO for issues that arise.Act as liaison between AgeSpan and vendors that provide non-clinical or financial services to AgeSpan. These vendors typically include but are not limited to : Answering Service, Daily Maintenance, Water, Shredding, Locksmith, Off-Site Storage, Vending, & HVAC.Assist in development of space designs and improvements.Negotiate agency office equipment contracts.Supervision & Leadership
As a member of the Executive Team, provide advice and guidance when necessary.Manage Contract Management and Facilities teams providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance while assuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance and risk management.Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to staff to enhance compliance knowledge and skills.All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
10 or more years of experience overseeing compliance, risk management, housing and / or health care administration, ideally as they relate to the elder community. Candidate will also have experience with nonprofit corporate law, HIPAA, and experience with drafting and negotiating contracts.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance or the like required. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school with a license to practice law in Massachusetts a plus.Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to think independently and lead interdisciplinary teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible language.Excellent analytical, negotiation, management, and research skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment and effectively manage competing priorities.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive matters.Strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization. Ability to understand and adapt to AgeSpan's organizational culture.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.Hours : 37.5 per week
