Position Summary: Responsible for the day to day operations at an assigned congregate dining location.
Essential Functions: (Core duties or tasks that are fundamental and not marginal to the performance of the job)
- Take reservations, order meals and supplies as needed by phone and computer.
- Maintain accurate meal count totals as well meal waste percentages.
- Serve appropriately portioned meals to both congregate dining participants, and Meals on Wheels clients, following monthly menu cycle.
- Maintain accurate record keeping including Food Temperature Logs, Refrigeration Logs, Sanitation Logs, Dish Machine Temperature Logs (if appropriate) and Daily Meal Count Logs.
- Recruit, train, supervise and schedule drivers, (as necessary), support staff and volunteers.
- Appropriately follows AgeSpan Meals on Wheels "Not Home" Policy for immediate follow up.
- Perform all duties related to safety and cleanliness of meal sites and assure that all site help adheres to proper regulations regarding Food Handling Procedures
- Monitor and track all participants' comments regarding all aspects of the Nutrition program for appropriate follow up.
- Assist Site Managers with annual State-Wide Food surveys for congregate and home delivered participants, as well as any additional surveys requested.
- Maintain appropriate contact with AgeSpan Nutrition department office staff and supervisors to report any relevant issues, caterer's errors, shortages for immediate follow up.
- Recruit and train sufficient substitute site managers, schedule coverage.
- Attend staff meetings and complete all AgeSpan required training as needed.
- Maintain the highest level of Customer Service standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, AgeSpan staff members, community representatives, family members and the public.
- Fill in as needed on open delivery routes.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent Communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong attendance standards
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
Hours: up to 17.5 per week
