What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plaintiff Personal Injury Paralegal position at AGG Legal Staffing?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting our lawyers in all stages of litigation. The individual in this role primarily supports the firm’s trial team in a fast-paced civil litigation firm. Must have the ability to manage and coordinate complex litigation files, most of which are simultaneously scheduled for trial.
Responsibilities
- Calendar and manage all deadlines, including meetings, pre-trial and trial deadlines, depositions, motions, IMEs / DMEs, mediations, etc.
- Under attorney direction, draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery, and regularly communicate with clients, experts, and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner.
- Proactively monitor files and escalate / prioritize issues requiring attorney involvement to avoid calendaring conflicts and completion of multiple simultaneous deadlines.
- Under attorney direction, draft pretrial and trial documents including lists of jury instructions, exhibit and witness lists, short statements of the case, and motions in limine.
- Prepare binders for mediations, depositions, and trials (exhibit and trial binders for final status conferences and trials primarily for cases in LA PI Hub).
- Organize and analyze discovery and documentary evidence including medical records, DME reports, depositions, discovery, investigative, and other documents.
- Review, interpret, and prepare medical chronologies and summaries of medical records and deposition testimony (page / line summaries).
- Prepare and handle tracking and disposition of subpoenas or other requests for information, including maintaining indexes of records received, when, and whether summarized.
- Ensure the organization of files including maintenance and management of all documents, including creating, maintaining, and updating indices, chronologies, witness lists, and witness files.
- Conduct research using online media for experts, background searches, and case investigation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the attorney or administration.
