Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage routes efficiently.
Duties
- Drive a delivery vehicle, such as a van or box truck, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of products.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks for moving heavy items when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience as a delivery driver or in route driving preferred.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and perform manual tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or moving is advantageous but not required.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service are essential.
