Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Safely transport products throughout the distribution center while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize RF scanners and pallet jacks for inventory management and order fulfillment tasks.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse layout for efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain high standards of quality.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in heavy lifting, mechanical knowledge, and equipment operation.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including forklifts, cranes, and order pickers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Experience with load unloading processes in a distribution center environment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by job duties.
- Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory tracking is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety practices in the workplace.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
