Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a hospital setting, particularly in a Level I Trauma Center. This position requires a compassionate individual who is adept at working with diverse patient populations, including those requiring dementia care and inpatient medical-surgical services.
Duties
- Perform routine medical procedures and assist with diagnostic tests as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation for patient assessments.
- Provide exceptional patient service, addressing any concerns and ensuring comfort during their stay.
- Assist in lifting and transferring patients safely, adhering to best practices for patient handling.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Participate in the care of patients in assisted living environments, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical equipment and workspaces to promote a safe environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hospital medicine or a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with the operations of a Level I Trauma Center is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Ability to perform essential tasks such as lifting patients and moving equipment safely.
- Strong understanding of medical-surgical protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
