MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (SVP & CFO) offers strategic leadership as part of the Executive Leadership team. This role oversees the Association’s finance, risk, and reporting functions, and spearheads association-wide strategic planning and budgeting initiatives. The SVP & CFO collaborates closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team to achieve the Association's mission and business objectives.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Require a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. 8 years of progressive business and financial experience and 5 years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
The candidate must possess expert knowledge in developing and implementing strategies for long-term financial viability, responding to regulatory changes, developing and managing various budgets and capital plans, ensuring high-quality financial reporting, determining portfolio pricing, maintaining appropriate internal controls, and overseeing enterprise risk management. Proven leadership ability is also required.
The ideal candidate must possess advanced knowledge of financial statements and reporting, with strong proficiency in GAAP and critical thinking skills. They should be well-versed in internal financial control policies and adept at using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to create, update, and save various documents. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, enabling the candidate to discuss a wide range of job-related topics and effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences. The role involves supervising 2 to 4 direct reports and 5 to 7 indirect reports. Preferably, the candidate should also have a solid understanding of the agricultural industry, economic principles, farming practices, and agribusiness.
