Position Summary

Agilant Solutions is looking for an established Senior Accountant in our Illinois office, located in Naperville, IL. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the company’s financial procedures, records and statements for compliance with internal and external polices.

Supervisory Responsibilities

·         Oversees accounting operations, which include timeliness of month-end close, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

·         Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for Staff.

·         Oversees the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.

Duties/Responsibilities

·         Ensures that financial statements comply with GAAP.

·         Conducts procedures for month-end close, including the posting of month-end journal entries, various balance sheet reconciliations, and expense flux analysis.

·         Prepares and calculates commission reports on a bi-weekly basis and ensures amounts are submitted to Payroll on a timely basis.

·         Assist with payroll processing as needed

·         Assists with year-end audit by working with external auditors, preparing schedules, and gathering support.

·         Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and recommends updates to such processes and procedures.

·         Key contributor in the improvement and management of the NetSuite ERP system.

·         Support the AR process, including assisting with collections, billing inquiries, analyzing the allowance for doubtful accounts, and other analysis on customer sales and outstanding accounts receivable as required.

·         Assists Accounting Manager with reviewing budget reports and working with other departments to prepare annual budgets.

·         Performs other ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

·         4-6 years of related experience.

·         High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, SumIf, VLOOKUP’s).

·         Self-starter, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks.

·         Ability to work accurately/independently in fast-paced/growing environment.

Preferred Requirements

·         CPA license or working towards obtaining CPA.

·         Knowledge of NetSuite and Paylocity.

·         Previously worked as an auditor in a small-to-mid accounting firm
